This site was dreadful. It was like camping on a building site. There were three constructions being built on the Galeb site which meant dumper trucks and construction vehicles running up and down. The work carried on until eight in the evening which didn\'t make for a relaxing holiday. There was piles of rubbish everywhere. All the amenities advertised in the book were shut except for one toilet block which was dark and not very clean. We had intended to stay there for a week but only stayed overnight as it was so bad. We did walk into Omis which seemed a nice town full of restaurants and bars and is an easy walk from the campsite. It is siteI would never visit again.
Location: Site well signposted off the D8 close to the edge of Ormis. Medium sized site with 350 pitches of varying sizes from 70 m sq to 120 m sq.
We used this as an overnight halt but didn’t want to stay for any longer.
Sanitary facilities are reasonably well fitted out but were not clean. There is a bar and restaurant on site.
This is a large and very regimented feeling site, all the pitches are laid out in straight lines, with heavy white line markings, it felt like being on a parade ground! Albeit that the services, i.e. water and waste were provided on each pitch. However, the main toilet/washing facilities were in a central/single core facility!
The views were stunning of the sea, if you were parked on the shoreline pitches. There were trees, put no hedging to break-up the long lines of caravans and motorhomes.
This campsite was convenient for getting into Omis town which was within walking distance. Having its own beach made it good for families. Using ACSI discount we were limited to the non serviced pitches which were back from the beach. Sanitary facilities, although in older buildings they had been refurbished and there appeared to be staff constantly cleaning them to a good standard.
We ate in the beach side restaurant and the food was excellent and reasonably priced.
