Nice little campsite. Redeveloping areas of the site with mobile homes, which meant that while we were staying, there was a lot of noise and movement with tractor/digger. Water in the showers was tepid, including the cubicle that was labelled warm water! Easy access, from a busy road, which meant there was intrusive traffic noise for a lot of the day. Pitches snug for modern British caravans and large (>6m) motorhomes. Electric carts running around a lot of the time. Bread and croissants available until they close for the season.

Stayed here early May. Beautiful drive from Carcassonne stopping to visit the lovely village of Minerve then on to the town of St Pons-de-Thomières and the campsite which is on the outskirts and walkable using the Voie Verte greenway just outside the camp. Saturday night at the campsite was a paella evening and a chance to meet other campers. Site so clean and excellent showers. Great opportunities here to cycle/walk on the flat or more strenuous. An easy cycle to the lovely old village of Olargues and its craft shops is worth it. As well as a pool, there’s a chance for river swimming on the site at a beach area.

We stayed here three nights and at the beginning of May it was very quiet. Doin a little research ourselves we found a great walking/cycling path very close by (cross the road by the bus stop) which can lead you either into the village (left) or to Riols and beyond.. Either way is a lovely half hour walk and great for the dog. The site has great private well hedged level pitches, each with water and electricity. Chalets etc on offer too. A very large swimming pool and bar/cafe. The river Jaur runs through the site and has a small waterfall, sandy beach and rock pool to swim in. It is worth exploring further up the river to its source as that is also an excellent picnic trip.

Travelling party: Seniors

We spent four nights here and enjoyed our camping experience very much. It’s a very well run campsite and there is nothing I can fault the owners with. There are a wide range of roomy pitches all accessible with the shrubbery making them very private. The sanitation block (unisex) is spotless. It may get a little crowded in the summer but it was fine in September. The swimming pool is gorgeous especially after a long walk and the river at the bottom of the camp site with its little sandy beach is delightful.

We visited Minerve (absolutely beautiful) and Olargues (also spectacular). There is a Greenway into Sainte Pons which is a very pleasant way of walking into this lively little town. It has an excellent market every Wednesday and the cathedral is worth a visit. It has one of the best organs in France and there seem to be occasional organ recitals.
