An adult-only campsite! Nothing sinister with that. Just adults enjoying time without children or grandchildren hanging about. Space at the pool without kids jumping and screeming their hearts out.
This site is for people who want to relax and spent some peaceful time away from their usual life.
Lacomte has a nice bar/restaurant with a good selection of wines, beers and spirits. The restaurants menu is small but the food is delicious. On offer in the evening also pizza and tapas.
The sanitary block is situated down near the middle of the area and has toilets and showers, some of which are closed in low season and low occupancy. In the block are washing machines and dryers as well as an outside washing up area and laundry basins under a roof. Everything is kept clean and tidy.
Lacomte is situated in the Lot/Dordogne region near the village of Carlucet. To the famous Rocamadour it is just about 12-15 km away. Some of the most beautiful villages in France are nearby and more than worth a visit. Lovely weekly markets are held all over from the proper local ones to the more touristy as well.
For shopping there is nearby Labastide Murat, a pretty town with a Carrefour supermarket and petrol station at the edge of town, bakery, butchers, stationary, restaurants/bars/pizzeria around the centre and the Mairie. A very nice town to explore.
Further shopping not too far in Gramat, which also has a Tourist information.
For cyclists this is a great area too, even for us who only take folding bikes, there are some great trips along vineyards nr Cahors or along the river nr St Cirq Lapopie.
We would come to this campsite and region again and again.

This is an adults only site. The site is quite extensive, the surrounding grounds even more so. Ideally placed to explore, Rocamadour, Domme on the Dordogne and Cahors and the Lot Valley. Many people we spoke to are regulars here. The BBQ evening we went to on the site was excellent. When visiting this area of France this will be our first choice.

A superb site , more enjoyable by being adult only.Stewart ,family and staff were efficient and amenable at all times.Did not eat in restaurant but all reports were very positive.many happy hours spent at and in the great pool. Site in a good area to visit interesting sites in Quercy and Dordogne.Avery enjoyable stay which we hope to repeat.

Lovely area and pitches very good & private. Not good when damp as the facilities were extremely damp and only cold water for showers & washing up.

We booked this site at the NEC motorhome show in October last year, having spoken with Sheila & Stuart, the owners, (several times over the last few years of going to the show). It seemed to good to be true an Adult Only site in France and it was absolutely 'Fabulous' probably the best , certainly the most relaxing holiday we have ever had in 27 years of caravanning. A Great BIG thank you to Sheila, Stuart and all their superb staff who really went out of their way to make sure everything was just right. Fortunately it won't suit everybody otherwise it would be impossible to get a pitch. Whilst we were there we had the misfortune of witnessing on 2 seperate occasions newly arrived clients who spoke to the staff and owners with such dis-respect the likes of which I have never seen. If you don't like it, don't stay but don't take it out on the staff they all work exceptionally hard to make everyones holiday as pleasant as possible.
We cannot recommend Chateau de Lacomte HIGHLY enough.

Great stay 2 weeks. Booked 2 weeks for next year. No complaints. Quiet, dead relaxed, owners & staff put loads of effort in and are very helpful. Brill pool and well spaced site. Well chilled. Good food, makes bread so you have to order day prior. No children hear so good site. Owner always seems to be doing something for someone. Left our van there over winter. Seems to me there are a few moaning growners on here. This site should be top of list. All sites have rules for a reason. Excellent place.
