Situated next to the river Dordogne, this campsite has a mixture of everything for everyone. It has pitches near to but not riverside as there is no camping allowed right on the river bank but pitching up nearby there is a clear view of the river. The pitches there are shady and heavily tree lined, which is great if the weather is hot and shade is required but in the wet and dull weather the pitches are quite dark and see very little sunlight. Other pitches are a mixed bag, some shade, some open and in places some very uneven, you do need to have a good look round before pitching up as the EHU points are few and far between. There is one set of sanitaires serving the entire site, so beware where you set up, as there could be a bit of a walk! However, the facilities are spotless, hot water, toilet paper in the toilets, even with half the sanitaires closed due to the time of year, there were still plenty of toilets, showers, sinks, and washing facilities available. There is a children\'s play area, a swimming pool, bar and Tikki bar at the pool, as well as a restaurant with take away meals, and second bar near the reception, but unfortunately, none of these were open as we arrived mid September and pretty much, as usual the season was over. However, I would imagine the place is humming and lively in the height of the season. These are all placed at the front of the site, near reception so any noise is well away from the main pitches, which is nice. There is also an epicerie which was open selling a limited range of necessities, at a price, but they do have a captive audience as there are no shops locally. Bread can be ordered from reception. The staff are friendly and helpful and speak English well and without hesitation. Wifi is free at the reception area. The small town within walking distance has a restaurant/bar which seemed busy whilst we were there during the weekend period. The town is fascinating to wander round with the buildings dating from the 1800\'s but no shops. We used this site for the first time this year to cycle the area and it is in easy each of Rocamadour and Gouffre Padirac. I would definitely recommend this site and will absolutely stay again.
We arrived on this site late, the directions seemed a bit vague, when we booked in we were told the wifi is only at the reception and bar area which is a long way from the pitches, the pitch we had was not good but it was on hard standing and there had been a lot of rain that day, so he was running out of hard pitches for motorhomes, there site was very nice and the pitches seemed to be spread well apart, the river was at the bottom of the site which would be ideal if that\'s what you are looking for, would use this site again if in the area.
One of our favourite sites this trip - will def return. Large pitches with nice open aspect with plenty of shaded pitches if required. Entertainment and bar well away from camping areas. Close to interesting village with restaurant and next to river. A really nice campsite.
Peaceful laid back rustic campsite on the banks of the Dordogne. No hustle and bustle. Loved it, suited our needs to a T. Staff very helpful both for on site and further afield information. Would most definitely return. With in easy distance of many sites of interest. A communal barbecue on Fridays great for meeting other campers from all over Europe. Fairly large touring caravan but decent sized pitched posed no problem. Facilities adequate and always clean. Oh and Mr Circal\'s honey, sold in the shop, is lovely. Thanks all there for a great holiday.
Site okay but full of mosquito, even 100 yards from the river. Found the staff to be very rude at times, even to the point of of ignoring us when entering into reception, waiting five minutes to be ignored and having to leave!
The sanitary was okay but unclean and in bad state of repair compared to previous campsites on our trip - river and pool good but staff\'s manners at times would prevent me recommending the site!
A lovely site, an excellent pitch right next to the river in which we swam every day. An area of natural beauty with so many interesting places to visit.
The site could only be improved at the cafe where the choice of meals was not to our taste- more local fare please! We do always like to use the site meal facilities.
But, we will return.
When we arrived we were the only visitors on site, feeling a little 'isolated' due to the sites rural setting. Our fault not the site's, due to the timing of our visit I'm sure! The site is adjacent to the river and within easy walking distance of the charming small village of Creysse. The site is very remote apart from the local village but within easy reach of the surrounding picturesque towns, villages and attractions. Ideally situated for visiting the eastern end of the Dordogne region. The facilities were very clean, modern and well maintained. Most other facilities were limited due to the early visit but looked good.
A very spacious campsite right on the banks of the Dordogne with launch facilities if you like canoeing. Excellent dog and people walking area with guides available from reception. An absolutely beautiful area of France with stunning scenery around every corner. Famous for its duck produce and walnuts. The campsite is in the medieval town of Creysse and near to Martel where you can take a ride on the tourist train (and your dog). Thoroughly recommended. We will return.
