A convenient site for Disneyland Paris with excellent swimming pools, restaurants and sports facilities
Poor site for touring caravans and motorhomes. Reception area chaotic when busy, no indication as to where to park to check-in and parking space very limited. No provision at all for the disposal of waste water. Facilities extremely stretched during busy periods. Staff drive around on golf buggies at an excessive dangerous speed considering there are so many children around. Pleasant town within easy walking distance with good supermarket and open air market. A few large pitches available for groups of up to 4 outfits.
Although the campsite covered a large area, the pitches were well organised and the facilities were usually pretty close by. It was an advantage to use a bike to get around into the surrounding countryside.
Excellent camp site for kids. If you are adults who aren't into other people's kids or being close to loads of English people whilst abroad, I wouldn''t recommend this place to you. We are usually CL type site people, which we had found before arriving here & this was the final treat for the kids (aged 11 & 13). They loved it, but also were disappointed with the lack of French / continental campers - the 13 year old remarking she may as well have been in the UK!! Pitching was hugely cramped until the school deadline approached & the place started to empty. Fishing in the on site lake a bonus (10 euros a day). Entertainment noisy & we didn't use it so can't comment. Loads of stuff for kids to do on site. Lots of games etc (at extra cost) & also lots of key camp type statics on site. Surrounding area beautiful - Pierrefonds a must & lovely clearly marked cycle & walking routs through Compiegne forest. Museum of Carriage of Armistace very interesting.
This was our last stop on a 4 day break from England, arriving Saturday afternoon and leaving early evening on Sunday. It is a huge site, taking into account all the holiday homes, and well run and clean with a good holiday feel, but not overcrowded considering it was the weekend. The toilet/shower blocks were accessible, clean and well maintained. We had a pleasant stroll around on Saturday evening and felt safe there even quite late. The boys had fun (though should mention my elder grandson had a problem connecting on the wifi at the pool) and we all enjoyed boating on the lake and the swimming pool. The food at the restaurant by the pool was good and we were able to relax there before heading home. We liked it there, will reccomend it to others and would like to return there given the opportunity.
I must say this is a fantastic site - IT IS MASSIVE everything from fly fishing to Archery to table tennis is available - an indoor heated pool with water slides and an outdoor one too with fountains. The campsite has its own luxury bus for reasonably priced trips to Disney and to Paris. The site has a takeaway a pub and a restaurant all reasonably priced. It has shops too, a supermarket, a bakery, and a holiday bits n pieces / souvenir shop. The site has pitches for caming cars, caravans and tents. However there are a very large amount of mobile home portkabins and swiss holiday lodges over 400 I would say at a guess. I was shocked by the size of the campsite. We got a space without prebooking in April and were given a tiny spot between a mobile home and a swiss style lodge. Due to the lodges having their own facilities the showering facilities for others are a bit fierce and chilly but that is being highly critical. A brilliant place where you can definitely relax!!! excellent
This has been our 2nd visit to this site in consecutive years. Plenty to do. We visited Paris the 1st year and took advantage of the Coach trip to Disneyland organised by the site the 2nd year. The upgraded pool area caters for all, very much improved. Lots of English (as previously stated in someone else's feedback), but this is great for the kids as they can make friends easier. We were looking at this again for 2011, however not sure now as the prices have risen quite a bit over the last 2 years. Trouble is, you'd be hard pushed to find a site of similar size/quality/amenities for less ! Overall a great site although it does need to be noted that fishing is not so good (dead fish problem in 2010 - floaters were reported - site employees seen removing them early in the mornings!!). Hopefully this has now been resolved.
A beautiful site in a lovely part of France. The site is quite large and it is possible to get a good pitch away from 'The Brits' if you would like. Ask for a pitch near (NOT IN) the Garden Park. The toilets are clean and well maintained. There is a small supermarket and a bakery as well as a gift shop/newsagents on site. The town is about a mile and a pleasant walk. The swimming pools are very good and should cater for all. Pitch facilities can include electric/water/drainage. The bar and restaurant are expensive, although we thought the fast food rotisary cook an excellent roast chicken for a reasonable price. There is a couple of play parks and a boating lake, bouncy castle, mini cars all at a small charge and a lake with a beach. Bicycle hire is also available but expensive. If you wish to visit Disney it's 80min drive. Pierfonds Castle (BBC Merlin) is 20mins away and excellent visit. There are lots of gardens and castles to visit as well as wartime memorials.
For family, absolutely brilliant, especially for fishing dad's and kids who are socialable. The facilities and entertainments are amazing. However, if you don't like to spend your holiday with 100% "Brits abroad", I suggest that you avoid this campsite. We, as a couple, found it to be a "Butlins abroad", and the number of English people was off putting.
What a fantastic site for families, I can't praise it highly enough. The pitch was absolutely huge, in it's own hedged area, at keast double UK size, with mains water & drainage in the price. UK electrics. Faclities are superb, immaculate & plentiful toilets & showers (although you have to lock door for light to come on in cubicles). Small swimming lake with beach & lifeguard, boating lake, fishing lakes, excellent pools with slides & flume, well stocked & reasonably priced shop. Site & facilities were immaculate. We were concerned that site would be 'tacky', aka Butlins, but wasn't at all. We went early July, so was quiet with minimal football strips on view, may be different later in the season. Good take away & restaurant on site. Lots to do in surrounding area. Paris & Disney 90 minutes away.
