Travelling party: Couple

Having stayed here for 2 weeks, here are our pros, cons and other info!
Pros:
Great setting, very green, abundance of mature trees and shrubs, so seems to be very much in the countryside.
Good access into Rome Tiburtina station by train (not Metro as advertised in the guide). The train is perfect for Vatican and Trastevere.
Access by bus also but we didn\'t try it.
Restaurant on site
Shop on site
Take away Pizza on site, good value we thought.
Good size pitches, some unmarked, those on semi hard standing, therefore a little variable if there aren\'t many guests !Hedged, grass, flat pitches.
Clean and tidy site
Shuttle \"bus\" to la Giustiniana railway station
Supermarkets, restaurants, within walking distance. (about a mile)
Free flowing hot water, soap and toilet paper provided
Free fast wifi in bar area
Cons:
Filthy shuttle bus, strong smell of smoke, some seat belts, some work,no child seats. Drivers wore seat belt only along the main road. Whilst there, there were only 4 per day(although free) and sometimes we were dropped off at the station and the driver did not wait until the allotted time for those returning!
Welcome was indifferent and no information was offered, although some staff during the stay were helpful and smiling.
Swimming pool should be open 1st May. It was still not open when we left on 28th.
Restaurant quite expensive for what it is, the shop more so...eg bottle of beer retailing in a Supermarket at 99c. was 3€50 in the site shop.
There is not much indication that you can have Pizza to take away. It\'s not marketed as such.
Toilets and showers very dated, some lights out, tiles cracked and broken, but generally clean. Wash cubicles not private, having a half glazed, wired, semi obscure glass door!
Unlit steps to the toilets.
Not sure about the electric sockets, some half off the wall and my 2 pin plug hairdryer didn\'t seem to fit.
Regular noise, twice a day for 20mins of dogs barking in adjacent premises, if you are sited on the hard standing.

General:
If approaching from the main road, Via Cassia, Via Italo Piccagli is a short distance but very poor road surface, huge tree roots and potholes, in addition to the overflowing rubbish bins and the two very tight bends. If approaching from Via della Giustiniana it appears, on the map that there is no way through. However there is a private road through the site, joining the holiday park with the campsite. We found this to be a better option, although we got there in error !
The route to the main road is uphill... we did our supermarket shopping on the way back from the station.

Upon advice we bought a seven day Metrebus ticket (24€)for metro, bus and train, a metro mistake costs 3€! so well worth it and other durations are sold.

Overall we thought it a good location for visiting Rome and a suitably priced site.
