We have enjoyed our stay here. Superbly run campsite in a stunning location, about eight km from San Jose where you will find supermarkets and restaurants. It is also near to La Isleta, a small fishing village along the coast with plenty of restaurants. Pitches are large with water and some shade if required. Full uninterrupted wifi coverage across the site. Will be back.
Decided to come here on the 7 for 6 night stay and it was on our way to the south... We are very glad we did. The site is quiet due to being November... Lovely and clean with excellent bathroom, washing facilities etc and the pitches are great also with own water next to our van. Very quiet at night I guess this is because it low season. We would defiantly come back when passing this area again.... Thank you for a lovely week.
Arrived here mid September on the basis of reviews on this app and the fact that it was in a national park. Well the campsite is reasonable but we were very disappointed as soon as we left the site and walked down to the beach. It looked like there had been a festival and no one had bothered to clear up afterwards with the amount of rubbish everywhere.
Once past the poly tunnels and into the park it is a great spot.
Site very busy when we were there as it was May Day Bank holiday, but then rest of week very quiet. Half the site was closed as they are redoing the pitches and updating sanitary facilities. Will be much improved, looked like where our pitch was, has been done.
Whole site was very clean and tidy. Walk to the village but little there, but surrounding beaches and villages fantastic. Much preferred this side of the peninsular for scenery. Amazing views. Good walks some difficult as were the bike trails, so worth chatting to other campers for their opinions. Would stay again.
The best site in the area, stunning scenery, good walking. Sometimes a lack of hot water at the sinks. Facilities could perhaps do with refreshing. Included internet responsive. Will return for sure.
Friends we met on the way in Spain recommend this campsite to us. Glad they did, it is a wonderful site. Friendly helpful accomodating staff. Restaurant on site is lovely. Small shop is handy but maybe best to stock up with main goods before you arrive. We stayed longer than planned. Lovely coastal walks along volcanos. We did walk from Los Escullos to San Jose beautiful scenery and treated ourselves to a lovely late lunch in San Jose. Very peaceful mind you it is January. Other visitors from all over Europe very helpful and friendly. Will definitely return later this year.
Stayed 3 nights in January 2016.
A good base to explore Cabo de Gata. Loads of walks & cycling in the area. If you\'ve never visited Southern Spain before the poly-tunnels on the way in can be a bit disconcerting but they end several kilometres from the site.
Most pitches are covered by shades (supported by steel rods pointing out which could damage high roofed motorhomes) and in the low season it would be better if the shades were removed.
As a consequence of the shades the pitch was dark which made the inside of the our van even darker, required lights most of the time!
Toilets & showers were clean but dated, gents shower had no hot water on one day and on another fluctuated between hot & cold.
Restaurant food was good.
Stayed here for three nights. The pitch is large and, with fine shingle, there is no need for a ground sheet. The showers and toilets are looking a bit dated but clean with plenty of hot water. In fairness, the top half of the site was under renovation so perhaps the rest of the site will be done. There is a nice walk, about 1 km, to Los escullos beach front. I\'m sure it\'s busier in the summer but the scenery is breathtaking. We cycled to Los Islatas del Moro, about 6km away. A wonderful picturesque village in a stunning cove setting. Well worth a visit. The site was very quiet for the first two nights however on the third night we had around 15 young folk setting up 7 tents in front of us. They were just having fun however were quite noisy. Not sure if this is usual at the weekend.
We would certainly visit again...... Making sure to avoid weekends.
Marked pitches with netting overhead to provide shade . Pitches on gravel many bordered by trees & shrubs. Electricity 10 amp & reliable, Wifi free & good signal on pitches. Very nice site which catered for most needs. Lovely pool with lifeguard. We stayed longer than expected and would certainly return. Highly recommended.
Nice site in natural park. Black sunshades are a bit unsightly and should be removed during low season.
Nice area for walking and biking with pretty little villages along the coast.
Happy hour 6-7 good as get 2 beers or wine for the price of 1 with a small tapas.
Top up with shopping if in Motorhome as quite a distance for supermarket.
Would visit again.
