This is a great campsite for visiting Haro & the bodegas which are both a 10 min walk. There are many permanent emplacements which are well kept and at the far end of the site is a large grassy area for tourers. Pitches are generous with plenty of shade. Toilet facilities are very good. Plenty of restaurants and bars in the town. The only complaint was the rudeness of the woman at reception both at arrival and leaving.
This site is excellent, Haro is lovely town and only 10/15 minute walk from site. Toilets always clean with plenty of hot water and powerful showers. Staff very friendly and helpful. Bread can be ordered from reception for collection following day. Restaurent closed when we visited, but not a problem as town has many tapas bars and restaurants. Would recommend this site to anybody wanting a relaxing peaceful site.
We missed staying here last year because of bad weather but managed a 4 night stop- over this year... And were very pleased to stay in Haro! The site is perfectly located to visit the town and the bodegas of the station area - fab, fab, fab!
Visiting the bodegas is the highlight of staying at this site, but the town has plenty to offertoo, we enjoyed the main sqare and churches, and lots of nice cafe/ bars for tapas and a coffee or two. The site is well used but well maintained, we had a nice hedged pitch and the facilities were fine if a little old. The staff were excellent and helped or advised when we needed information.
Good situation near the town.. initial reception was poor ...didn\'t explain some pitches do not have easy access to hook up. Only stayed one night but would return to explore the more of the area.
Here at the end April, an airy open site. Approach looks a bit scruffy bt site well kept, showers etc a bit worn bt clean, v spacious, lots of hot water. No soap in WC. A really easy walk to the town, & I\'m on a crutch following a knee op. Church def worth a look, fab interior but ltd opening hrs.Great to sit in a bar at the top of the square in the evening sun. Look out for storks! Difficult to find anywhere open for evening meal so we ate at the camp site, menu v basic, every thing with chips! I guess they know what their customers want! Great white Rioja - Muga.
No signposts on the main roads you need to head into town then the site is well signposted. Good large pitches separated by hedges or a central grassy area (avoid at weekends as locals arrive en mass and block you in). Easy short walk into town. Very interesting town with a lot of lovely street art and Bodegas to visit. Our visit to the site restaurant was a disaster, loud TV, wrong wine - which was changed, wrong meal - ordered pork cheeks in red wine and got very dry chicken & chips with so much salt it was inedible. Would definitely visit again but avoid the site restaurant. Some good restaurants in town.
Very few people on campsite in November, very friendly and helpful staff. Free wifi at bar. Toilet block heated.
Used this site as a stopover on our way back from the south and so glad we did. Site was fairly quiet in September as most people doing just a one night stopover. We did two nights in order to take in a bodega. We went to CVNE which is a short walk away. The times of their tours are listed on their site and are bookable in advance via the site. We staggered back with several carriers of wine so we were glad it was so accessible.
There are also plenty of bars, restaurants and shops in the town, again not too far to walk to.
A good convenient site for visiting the Bodegas in the area and for a short walk into Haro itself. Haro is well worth a visit for the cafes and shops. Tihe pitches are quite small and it was very was very busy even in early September.
Staff very unwelcoming, felt they couldn\'t wait to get rid of us, no help finding a pitch, just a go help yourself attitude. It was a bit confusing which pitches had electric and which didn\'t, plus some pitches very difficult to maneuver into. Many pitches are taken up with permanent occupancies. Over hanging trees a problem on some pitches. Electric boxes can be quite a distance from vehicle, the first pitch we selected our cable didn\'t reach the box so had to find another place. Advertised as having free wifi around bar area but when we started to use it realised it was only free for the first hour after that you had to pay the quite expensive daily rate. We only stayed one night and would never return. When we checked out staff very unfriendly again.
