General information

Campsite Alpenblick is a campsite with 100 touring pitches and 80 year round pitches. During low season, between 01-01-2017 - 14-07-2017 and 01-09-2017 - 31-12-2017, the nightly rate is €19,- at one of the 100 touring pitches at Campsite Alpenblick in Interlaken (Bern). At this campsite you can not only use your CampingCard ACSI for inexpensive camping, you can also use your ACSI Club ID (as an alternative ID).

A well run family campsite next to the Thunnersee lake, no marked out pitches, agreeable atmosphere. Level grounds comprising long avenues with grassy strips on each side. Quite a large number of tall trees.

This campsite is central for visiting the attractions around interlaken. It does not have direct access to the lake , I have mixed feelings about our 3 night stay here in June...
pros
good toilet and washing facilities
central for attactions
lake swimming nearby
cons
staff off hand and not very friendly (apart from the young man who showed us to our pitch )

We also had an issue during our stay, whereby on arrival we were informed that our acsi pitch was only available for 2 of the 3 nights we wanted to stay, I checked again at the end of the 2nd night and we were again told we had to move as our current pitch was reserved (which I was surprised at, as I had phoned before we arrived and tried to reserve an ACSI pitch, to be told that they were not reservable). If we wanted to stay we had to pay more and move to another pitch. It became evident that nobody actually did come and stay on our original pitch. There was also another empty pitch which we were not offered. Never had a problem like this in all the time we have used ACSI sites. I would choose to stay somewhere else if I am in this very beautiful area again.

I have had the most wonderful time at this site because of what it offered in terms of location. The opportunity to visit one of the worlds most stunning landscapes is second to non. I paid for a 3 day pass to access almost anywhere in the mountains... a lot of money but if you can afford it, and don\'t have a car with you, then well worth the money.
In terms of the campsite itself, the toilet and shower facilities are exceptional. Clean and polished beyond most homes! However, the real let down is the \'cheap seat\' pitches for ACSI customers. They are more like a good camper stop, overlooking the chemical toilet disposal point and with very little space. And this is if you are lucky enough to get one. That said, I had a great time there and my dog loved the local walk and particularly playing in the cascading river that runs next to the site. Would I return? Maybe but there may be other sites I\'d consider first.

A well-located site with good, free, bus access into Interlaken and elsewhere. Motor home pitches very small, but close to sanitary facilities. Toilets and showers spotless, heated and fine, but only two male toilets and four female, plus two showers in each were open.
Access is easy, though it\'s not clear where to park at reception.
ACSI pitches are either close to road or small (or both), though it is possible to pay (even) more to upgrade.
Close to a firing range which makes for interesting acoustic effects as the sound of the gums echoes around the surrounding mountains.
Beautiful views of the mountains and lots of walks locally and from Interlaken.
In brief, an excellent location (though not on the lake) with easy access, but with taxes, expensive and overall average.

An outstanding camping park in all respects.Good staff and well located..bus....At front door which is included in the taxed price. The pitches are good size and the toilets and showers are first class...although when it\'s busy there appears to be insufficient numbers of both.Great base for touring the area and the mountains all on public transport .Recommend the old train up to Schynge Platte..great day and many great views.

A lovely site near the lake with mountain views and free bus to Interlaken. From Interlaken you can take trains up into the mountains so everything really accessible from the site. We stayed in a camper van on site and found the toilet and shower facilities to be second to none! We will definitely be returning to this site and would recommend it.

This campsite (some shade) is in a really good spot a short walk to Lake Thun. The free bus stops right outside and it is very convenient for visiting the nearby mountains. The toilet facilities are spotless and the best we have ever found. The staff were really helpful when I had an infected insect bit bite. They organized an appointment at the local doctor and gave easy directions. The bistro was popular although we did not have time to try it.

Very friendly greeting from owners. Good size level pitches. Excellent toilet and shower facilities. Cannot fault anything with this site. There is also a free bus into Interlaken which stops right by site. Great cycle routes and walks from site. Robert and Pauline Macey

Arrived at site with a warm welcome , quickly shown pitches that were available. Anyway great campsite level hardstanding pitches with 16 amp elect , toilets and showers immaculate , good bar at reasonable prices . To soften the blow on the campsite fee we were given a free pass for transport in the area during our stay also it entitled us to half price train journey to the mountain restaurant amongst other offers on the pass . Cycle route close by and lake about 100mts . Will we be going back well I hope so , can recommend the campsite and the area highly .

Travelling party: Group of friends

I was touring with 2 friends on motorcycles each with our own small one man tents. We booked in using acsi card as we had on every other campsite, this was accepted but instead of being charged for one extra person as we usually are, we got charged for 2 extra tents, 2 extra vehicles & 1 extra person + garbage & tax.
And this was for a muddy pitch with tree roots.
When I asked for a better pitch, I was told, No! because we were only staying one night.
The campsite, sanitory facilities, bar, shop & cafe were ok & the staff were fine.
But the price was more than double the cost of any other campsite we stayed on and no swimming pool. Why so dear?

Reaction from the campsite December 13, 2013

Hello Paul,

The prices during the high season were present at your arrival and you accepted it in advance. We define your place for only 1 night without a reservation, specially on high season. The bikers will be placed in a quiet dry place under the trees. All other bikers were very happy with that. Under pine trees there is no gras but it\'s not so muddy as complaint.
The camp was nearly full and we had open reservations. It\'s only fair when we let the bigger pitches for long staying groups with larger vehicules. The pool is not planed because we stay 80m from the lake and just beside a warm river.
Thank you for the good review for facilities and the team. We are proud on our employees and the clean and modern infrastructure but this results also in higher costs. In switzerland we have very high taxes and strong rules from our covernment.

Kind regards
George
