Very friendly and efficient check in with lots of advice. Good clean site with generous pitches and handy for a stop over for the ferry ports. Facilities were clean and very roomy. As all the toilets and showers were in separate cubicles we were unsure why they were designated male and female which reduced the flexibility. However, they were always clean. Excellent local walks, our dog loved it. Hamble is a lovely village with good facilities, and there are supermarkets within a short drive. The site is no longer as large as it was when we stayed there a few years ago in that some has been sold off for development, however this does not affect the touring pitches, but one facilities block has been lost.. Nice lounge available for campers if the weather turns inclement. We are unable to comment fully on Child friendliness, accommodation and sports facilities as they are not applicable to us, but the site is safe. We did not notice any disabled access to the facilities block.
Very friendly welcome on booking in , well informed of local facilities and amenities , the pretty village of Hamble just a mile stroll away with plenty of outlets for local prepared food of good quality. The ferry across to Warsash gave access to the walks along the Solent with veiws of Southampton Water .
We were lucky to have found this site on our return from France, a very convenient site after leaving the Ferry. Its in a lovely location with plenty of local attractions. Friendly and helpful staff with adequate facilities. Our ideal type of site.
This is our favourite site in Hampshire, when looking for somewhere to stay while visiting family in Southampton.
In 2014 we stayed on 3 separate occasions.
Since 2013 there were a reduction in the number of touring pitches, with a subsequent reduction in toilet /shower facilities, but then the number of pitches have been increased again in 2014 resulting in the proportion of facilities to pitches being poor. That said, other than high season weekends, I rarely queued. The facilities are always clean, with hot water.
The staff are always friendly and helpful, and keep the site clean and well maintained. We had a problem with our car on our last visit, and the staff went out of their way to help us to move to another pitch from the pre-booked pitch we were on, and then to a temporary area when the entire site was fully booked at the start if the Southampton Boat Show.
We plan to stay there again in 2015.
Well run campsite set in very pretty well maintained grounds, a testament to the friendly and very helpful wardens. Immaculate facilities and plenty of hot water. Walking distance to village of Hamble and the busy marina (about one mile) where you can catch a bus to Southampton. Small shop on site but unfortunately no daily bread orders. Enjoyable stop and we will be back.
When we asked what the per night rate was in £'s we were told that it was the same as the euro so we had to pay £15 but the sister site Shamba were more fair they quoted £13 as the exchange rate. The female on reception was very abrupt and didn't care wether we stayed or not, her attitude was "take it or leave it" not a good advert to the foreign traveller .
