• In the north, you will find the Albanian Alps, also called the 'Accursed Mountains'. This mountain range is on the border area with Montenegro and Kosovo. Here, you can walk through breathtaking landscapes with high peaks and deep valleys. The weather can change suddenly, so make sure you have good shoes and a raincoat.
• Llogara National Park, located on the coast, offers a combination of mountains and rock formations in the sea. It is like you are visiting the Norwegian fjords! This area used to be an important trade route, and you will still find remains of old civilisations.
• Culture lovers can indulge themselves in cities such as Gjirokastër and Berat, both on the UNESCO World Heritage List. There you will find historic architecture, old castles and museums that tell you all about the ancient history in which the Ottomans and Romans played prominent roles.
