Travelling party: Seniors

We stayed at this campsite and booked in for two nights we enjoyed it so much we stayed a further two nights. We did not speak French but staff so friendly it did not matter. The site was very tranquil surroundings great locals seemed very friendly Train ran close by but was not a problem. Close to American First World War Graves. Would return we had a great time.

Reading the previous reviews, we wonder if we were on the same site! We found ‘la Pelouse’ to be perfectly acceptable & think some comments regarding the train noise & san facs are a bit harsh. Yes, the trains are audible, but the lines are some distance away & not so intrusive as to keep you awake; the san facs are adequate & well-maintained (just how many French sites do have seats & loo paper?) The grass pitches are fine, most appear to be plenty large enough, with places to the lower part of the site having more shade. The small swimming pool is heated & clean; Madame on reception, who also runs the restaurant, was friendly & helpful. We would happily stay again.

Travelling party: Couple

No toilet seats, no toilet paper, no soap or hand dryers or paper towels.
Absolutely no facilities for the disabled, despite their own leaflet stating that there are. Not even a handrail in the loo! Joking apart this site is unsuitable for anyone with a significant mobility problem.
Roadways uneven and very slippery after rain.
Lovely views and very generous pitches. Possible to order bread and croissants each day for the following day.

The site was sadly let down by the abysmal toilet/shower/dishwashing facilities. The toilet block was unheated and the 'hot' water was tepid at best. The toilet cubicles were smelly and for the most part the floor of the whole block was awash due to a draining boards waste sink emptying directly onto the floor. This is a pleasantly located site which is somewhat marred by the proximity of an elevated TGV rail line close to the site. The sound of the trains is somewhat intrusive.

This site is suposed to be 'Qualite camping'. It most certainly is not. Many pitches are soil and stones on the old part. Many of the rest are weeds rather than grass and that in places was 6" - 12" high. Hadn't seen a mower in weeks. Although actual sanitary facilities were clean, the interior walls were mouldy in a number of places. The noise from trains was horrific. 4 in 12 minutes at one point on a Sunday night. Not a site I will ever visit again.

Near Metz one of the worst sites I have ever been on. NO hot water and a horible smell. No where near the map.
