Camping Le Vélodrome is a campsite with 75 touring pitches. During low season, between 01-04-2017 - 25-06-2017 and 23-08-2017 - 11-10-2017, the nightly rate is €15,- at one of the 75 touring pitches at Camping Le Vélodrome in Albert (Somme). At this campsite you can not only use your CampingCard ACSI for inexpensive camping, you can also use your ACSI Club ID (as an alternative ID).
The campsite is located on the River Ancre and by several well-stocked fishing lakes. There is a free practice range for golf with 5 holes next to the site. The area around Albert formed the front line during the attacks of the Somme in 1916. The many graveyards and monuments are a silent witness to this. A visit to the welcoming historic centre of Albert is recommended. There is a special area for motorhomes.

Second time we have stayed here so we knew what to expect. Showers had been improved but only by fitting a new cubicle around the old shower. Pitches good for our TA some fully serviced. Access quite good. Good for visits to WW1 museum and battle sites.
This is an adequate site, and although the showers had been updated since our last visit it had clearly been done on the cheap! Not really any better. Easy access for our TA and some good sized pitches. Ideal for visiting the WW 1 museum and local battle sites. Lovely public park next to the site with walking and cycling opportunities. Fishing also possible. Some pitches fully serviced.
Nice site within walking distance of Albert. Very close to the Somme battlefields and memorials. Pitches quite large. Showers ok but need some work, although clean.
we stayed three days the week before the hundred year anniversary of the battle of the Somme the toilets are clean but unisex motorhome pitches hard standing, quite à lot to do and see in and around Albert, very saddening when you see all the grave yards and memorials if possible visit the Poppy Cafe for a good cheap meal.
Well located site, very calm and well organised, near to lakes and a short walk to Albert, good location for visiting WW1 sites.
Stayed in September 2015. Only used this as an overnight stay. Unisex toilets, paper was on the wall outside the cubicles, Hot showers. Reception was closed on arrival, but just chose a pitch and settled up in the morning. Lovely short walk around the fishing lakes
Lovely setting next to a park/lakes. Large grassy pitches, we had our own water & drainage. Unisex toilets had no seats, very often no paper. no soap in dispenser BUT washbasin didn\'t work anyway! Chemical toilet didn\'t work so had to empty in camper van waste unit. Short walk into Albert centre. Good base for WW1 cemeteries etc. Reception very limited opening hours but if not open just find a pitch and let them know later.
A lovely site with a very nice warden. The site appears to be unmanned from about lunchtime until 6pm but you just go to the site and choose a pitch and pay the warden at 6.00pm when the office opens. Lovely pitches and well kept site and in easy reach of World War 1 sites.
Definitely worth a visit
Very nice camping beside a river. Pleasant 10 minute stroll into the town of Albert. Sanitary facilities are clean and adequate. Pitches are of a good size, with good covering of well tended grass. Wifi is free and available beside the reception, where there are chairs for users. This site is ideal for people wishing to visit the WW1 sites in the Somme and only 2 miles from the Lochnagar Cratar where the Battle of the Somme started in 1916. Highly recommended.
This evaluation has been obtained by our inspector from a questionnaire at the camp site.
